Vaccinations

Eligible patients can be vaccinated against illnesses such as shingles, whooping cough, measles, and meningococcal disease at Neighbourhood Pharmacy. All Neighbourhood Pharmacies participate in state-based vaccines programs as well as national immunisation programs to increase accessibility for vaccinations and help protect the Australian community.

State-based Vaccine Program

Western Australia (WA) runs state-based vaccination program supplementing the National Immunisation Program (NIP). If you are eligible under a state-based vaccination program, you may be able to receive certain vaccines at no cost or at a reduced cost. These vaccines are funded by WA state government and are available to people who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the Australian Immunisation Handbook. Your pharmacist can help check your eligibility and advise which vaccines are available to you.

National Immunisation Program (NIP) In Pharmacy (NIPVIP)

The NIPVIP Program increases patient access and affordability of vaccinations to help protect our community from vaccine preventable diseases. If you are eligible under the National Immunisation Program (NIP), you may be able to receive your NIP vaccines at the pharmacy for free. This depends on meeting the NIP eligibility criteria and local state guidelines, and whether the vaccine can be given by a trained pharmacist. Your pharmacist can help check your eligibility and let you know which vaccines are available to you.

Private Vaccines

Some vaccines are available through your pharmacy as a private service. These are offered in line with the Australian Immunisation Handbook and local state guidelines, and can be safely given by trained pharmacists where permitted. Your pharmacist can let you know which vaccines are available and whether they are suitable for you.
