Medschecks and Diabetes Medschecks

MedsCheck and Diabetes MedsCheck are in-pharmacy services designed to help you use your medicines safely and effectively. These services give you the chance to meet one-on-one with a pharmacist to review your medications and create a personalised plan to get the most out of them.

During a MedsCheck, your pharmacist will:

Review all your medications.
Talk with you about how and when to take them.
Identify any problems, such as missed doses or side effects.
Give guidance on storing your medicines safely.
Provide education to help you manage your health confidently.

Diabetes MedsChecks are tailored for people with type 2 diabetes. In addition to reviewing your medications, your pharmacist will help with:

Using blood glucose monitoring devices correctly.
Understanding your medicines and how they work.
Tips to improve blood sugar control and reduce the risk of diabetes-related complications.

These consultations with the pharmacist are free and if a more detailed review is needed, or if any serious issues are found, your pharmacist may recommend a Home Medication Review, which is a longer 30–40 minute review arranged through your GP.
